A detailed process energy balance was completed. It was established that approximately 30% of the energy used in cooling and 30% of the energy used in heating could not be accounted for even allowing for normal losses (combined Value of €175,000 per annum)
The Outcome
High baseload figures indicate savings opportunities
Large savings available from improving key areas i.e. steam and refrigeration. Practical savings opportunities proposed.
Capex savings in upcoming projects identified.

On site renewable energy options reviewed and practical staged implementation plan provided.
Recommend moving non-process users away from steam to heat pumps in order to reduce carbon emissions and also to reduce distribution losses (currently approximately 1km of steam pipework)
